As we enter our second year as a chapter, RUNWSAC President Larry Bullock recently made a few Executive Board appointments to solidify the power of our Executive Board.
Bill Hetrick, formerly Marketing Chair, accepted his new role as the chapter’s Vice President, a position that had been vacant for some time. Being Marketing Co-Chair, his wife Melissa became Marketing Chair. Our Executive Board is very excited for the Hetricks who have been active and influential members since the chapter’s founding in November 2010.
Bill and Melissa graduated from Roosevelt in 2009 with a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing degree and have worked in advertising and marketing for the past 10 years.
Bill will work diligently to strengthen the relationship between the chapter’s alumni members and the University.
“That is why our chapter was chartered and that will remain my focus,” he said.
Melissa will continue to oversee and maintain the chapter’s web site, emailing the chapter’s newsletter’s goals and growing our list of active alumni.”
One important goal that is on their minds is to develop a way for the University and our chapter to gather, collect and share alumni information.
“One of our most important challenges for the chapter in 2013 is to improve the types of data and reporting the University shares with us and the frequency that it is made available,” Bill said. “When we can gain a clear picture of alumni activity we can better craft our chapter programs to be more relevant.”
Besides their chapter duties and jobs, the couple recently welcomed new addition to their family: William John Hetrick III. The youngest Hetrick has made some guest appearances at meetings which should provide him some good training to follow in his parents’ footsteps as a future RUNWSAC member.
President Bullock also named Kim J. Kidd, a new chapter member, as our liaison to Roosevelt Lakers Booster Club. The Roosevelt Lakers sports teams include men’s and women’s basketball, cross county, soccer and tennis. As our chapter’s liaison, Kidd will attend Booster Club meetings and file reports to our chapter.
Though there will be no chapter meeting for November due to Thanksgiving, we will have a festive event in December to celebrate our hard work as well as the holidays. Please consider joining us for an alumni social event at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Emmett’s Ale House, 110 N. Brockway Street in Palatine. There will be an Executive Board meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. Appetizers will be provided and drinks will be available for purchase.
Please RSVP at www.runwsac-eorgf.eventbrite.com for this event. Also, visit www.rooseveltnwsac.com for calendar events and monthly blogs. See you at Emmett’s.
